Anyone in ACT knows anything about this car for sales?

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Anyone in ACT knows anything about this car for sales?

Hi all,

I'm currently looking to get a 3.0R-B and this comes up. Was just wondering if anyone knows the history of this one on sales at one of the dealers (not sure if its subaru dealer) in Canberra.

Any info will be appreciated. Would be a big effort for me to make my way from Syd to Canb just to view the car :P

Hi Mate,

It's not one of the Subie Dealers, its at Rolfe Motors. I think they are primarily mazda (new) and all sorts (used). I could probably get to the place tomorrow or Saturday and have a look for it if you wanted, see if I could get any of the history etc.

The pics look nice and clean, but then again why would you post them up if it made the car look dodgy.

Cheers,
Kev

LOL! True. However with the current exchange rate not everyone can afford to mod it. :D

Audi not bad but the E55 doesn't excite me. Apart from the 'black' range Mercs are so geriatric.

It's not only cars that are a bargain Have a look at boats over 24ft!!!!

I've driven a few E55s and found them plenty exciting. I recall commenting that it shouldn't be possible for a lounge room to handle so well.

Substitute mature for geriatric and I agree.

Oh look motor wise the AMG range is fantastic (as is anything McLaren had something to do with) - but Merc's just have the old fart stigma IMHO. Every grey haired has-been and wanna-be owns one, and whats with the poofy blue windows??

Audi and Beemer make hotrods - Merc make status symbol lounge chairs

PS - Good friend of mine (old work colleague) quit as a Merc salesman recently (more rules in sales technique than you'd believe, and the ego's and pompous customer the brand attracts) - he got to bring every model home for testing :)

hotrods? THAT is the domain of AMG. Supercharged v8's and v12's driving auto's with not quite perfect steering and handling. Theirs are the hotrods of the big german 3. BMW makes sports cars (some ace ones at that). Audi makes seriously quick all rounders

Oh and McLaren's only involvement with AMG has been for the SLR.

Precisley!! SLR rocks

But you are probably right my choice of description as 'hotrod' not neccessarily accurate (although colourful) - but better sports saloons they are.

Still it would take quite some convincing for me to buy Euro anyway - the experiences in my mechs workshop speaks plenty. a 335, RS4 would be the closest I'd come and may not be too hard to twist my arm.

Your justification for Merc is all about the motor - which we agree on (and also why so many other boutique manufacturers use it) The rest is poo (Mercs have horrible slush-boxes).

I'm quite fond of the sound of the AMG's. I would much rather have an M3, 335, or 135 than any of the Mercs. SLR included

PMSL!

Just finished watching Top Gear S12E07 - what timing!!

Interview with Tom Jones - guess what his latest car is.......

SL55 AMG!

Rest my case

The guy took 6 goes at finding 3rd gear in the reasonably priced car and lapped the circuit in the bottom 1/3rd of the leaderboard (just above Helen Miren :D)

The only thing more convincing of my argument would be if Elton John also owned an AMG
