From what I have learned in this past year with Liberty ownership ( previously a 2.5 and now a 3.0R ) the separate AC control panel is provided with the double DIN AV Panel set because in the Liberty's that don't have a McIntosh system installed, the CD player whether it be single or 6 disc in-dash has the AC control panel integrated with the CD player/radio combo.
So, in those cases, once you remove the factory stereo, the AC control is gone with it too !
