It is actually pretty easy - the walkthrough is long because it has a lot of info in it - I tried to anticipate any questions and answered them as I went along.

It can be summarised as;

* remove park brake cover
* remove AT ring
* remove centre console
* remove cupholders
* solder some LEDs to wire
* stick LEDs in cupholder holes
* plug wires into harness connector
* reassemble

That does look less intimidating :)

Re the '08 cupholders - at the top, my cupholders have a kind of lip all the way around. immediately uner this lip is a plastic cirlce ring about 5mm high - it is flush with the walls of the cupholders, right at the top.

hey laps,

yours is the 08 model like mine yes? if so, sadly ours dont have the clear rings mate... they have em in the 07 2.5i though... they wised up and got rid of them for the 08..... i've been wanting to do this mod for ages but can't and don't know where to find suitable rings...

My MY07 2.5i manual doesn't have the rings either, so don't feel left out. I think it is because there is the single cup holder, as the high-low shifter takes the space of the front cup holder...
