Some dumb questions for you all...

hi guys,

just a few questions, i hope they're not too dumb or obvious lol

Dumb Question 1:
anyone here with a NON- GT gen4 can tell me if ur speedo is bright on the brightest setting? i have mine on the brightest and it seems pretty dull (i hoped into a friends my08 GT and those dials were extra bright!)

Dumb Question 2:
Can the exterior mirrors be folded in on a 2.5i? i know i would have to do it manually but i tried and it seems like i have to use a bit of force....i dont want to break the f**ckers haha anyone done a convert on this where u can hook them up to ur lock and have them remotely fold in everytime u lock the car?

Dumb Question 3:
i have noticed a difference on the headlights of the 2.5i 's and the GTs and up... or models with HID i presume, there is a little rectangle square in the bottom corner of the headlight closest to the grill... what is this and what is its purpose?

Dumb Question 4:
Anyone with a 2.5i can u confirm that on ur rear fender there is no black plastic 'protective' casing (where a mud flap would go)? i have them on the front.. but none on the back... and there seems to be two holes where they would screw into.... just wondering if they forgot on the assembly line lol

anyways just a few niggling questions thought i'd knock them out in one thread hahaha

1. I've got a MY08 2.5i, the speedo is quite bright, I'd be happy yo bring my car around for you to have a look.

2. They do fold, they just take quite a lot of force. I think having them fold automatically would be a pricey modification, not to mention a very troublesome one.

3. That little rectangle on the headlights are the washers, the 2.5i premium now comes with them too. THey're equipped to all cars with HID's, as it's a requirement to have washers fitted to any cars with hids/bi-xenon lights.

4. I think I know what you're talking about with this, and I'm pretty sure I have them. Maybe yours have fallen off, because I know my front ones have somehow fallen off. Dodgey clips I think.

Further to your first question, I think you'll find the instrument lights will dim when you turn your headlights on (my MY06 3RB does anyway). That *could* be the source of the discrepancy between your car and your friend's car

ok. Mine sit on the lowest setting all the time anyway unless I have the headlights one during the day when I am wearing the sunnies - then I'll turn them up a couple of notches

when i saw the friends GT's dials it was at night time as compared to mine on at night time also and noticeably brighter than mine. i have them on the highest setting at all times....

drndrn: thanks for the offer, but its a bit too much trouble, i think i'll just have to live with it... as for question 4, i'll try and takes some pics later.... i actually found out they were missing when i got her home from the dealers ....but didnt really think much of it.... no big deal i guess...

as for the mirrors... i rmember trying a few times but i was shocked that they didnt budge so didnt wanna break it....

my MY05 does and all I have to do is press the "BRIGHT" button...

MY06 removed the BRIGHT button, and made the top dimmer setting do the same thing.

does this 'bright' button control the speedo display? yeah mine doesnt have anything like that, just a dial which u can turn...

oh and forgot...

dumb question 5:
i know the HU dispays OUTSIDE temp... but can it be toggled between INSIDE as well?? i couldnt find it in the manual so im guessing no.... someone prove me wrong haha
