Was thinking the same thing. Rosso's are the closest match to RE050A's. Nero's not in the same performance category.

Did you get Rosso's or Nero's for that price?

i'm hoping to go up to a RE001 range tyre...

at this stage, it's either the RE001 or the V103

frantically doing background work on the v103 as it's not discussed much...

Mine are the Rosso's, can post some pics if you like. 250 is a good price Buddah, much better price than to replace the 050's. The PZero is what came stock on the Liberty STi last year.

When I got mine the fitter was saying Pirelli had discounted a heap of tyres for some reason.

Interestingly, my Subaru dealer didn't recommend replacing the 050 or using the Pirelli, they found the V103 the best mix of price/performance/wear... either that or they had a heap in stock and needed to move them.

I just got myself the Adrenalins in 225x40x18 and OMG these are a great tyre !! Confidence inspiring, although my old tyres were knackered.

Ahh, but everyone has their own definition of great because of what they're looking for in a tire. So can you elaborate a bit like is it noisy? How does it grip? What's the ride comfort like? Thanks.

I suppose my intention was to give it a thumbs up to add to the list of people who are happy with them. They are quiet, they are not harsh and they stick very well. I'm not a good tyre reviewer I admit, but I'm sure most would like them

Naw, it's cool, norbs.

Not looking for a professional review. Just wondering whether ultimate grip comes at the price of a harsh and noisy ride, because I want something decently comfortable but still provide good grip. I think the Marangoni's are due up soon and I'm pondering replacements as I'd like to try something else.

I'm thinking either the Adrenalines or the RE050As but in 225/45/18. Slightly wider will suit the 7.5" rim and the slightly taller tyre will go some way (but not much) towards compensating for the speedo error.

With track days only about once a year it's not worth putting on the specialist Falken RT615 or similar.

OK, according to the Bridgestone website, outside diameters are as follows:
- 050a at 215/45R18:- 652mm
- 050a at 215/45R17:- 626mm
- 050a at 225/40R18:- 637mm
- 050a at 225/45R18:- 659mm

- Adrenalin at 225/40R18:- 637mm
- Adrenalin at 225/45R18:- 660mm

So, if your original tyre was a 215/45R18 (sorry, I can't work out what people are comparing to in the last few posts) the 225/40 will indicate faster than the 215/45 while the 225/45 will indicate slower (producing a greater risk to your licence as you are more likely to be travelling faster than your speedo indicates).

The 225/45 will be closer than the 40 aspect tyre to the 215/45 (4% vs 7%) It won't be exact though (unless you are stretching it across an 8.5" wide rim :lol:
