Hitech Exhaust Question

Postby CheesyMong » Mon Nov 24, 2008 5:17 pm

Hi Guys

Can anyone provide any insight for me.

I have in my kit bag yet to be installed a Phat DP and I'm looking at options for the rest of the exhaust.

The current option is the hitech mufflers and the hitech centre pipe.

Is anyone running the Hitech centre pipe?

Also will all these bits just bolt up without any major modifications.

Cheers

Joel

Joel just get an after market resonator and have Nik at ASG fab up the 3" centre pipe for you. Will be much cheaper I believe.

I got the Phat DP and hitech mufflers and Phat had 3" centre made up, no compaints and would have to be cheaper than hitech centre

+1

From what Pete's sounds like, I'd recommend what he did. It sounds the goods :)

Yup, go with the 3" custom setup (with resonator). HiTech is sort of becoming the MRT of exhausts, a bit overpriced. So no need for the HiTech centre pipe.

Cool thanks for the advice guys, was just thinking it would have been easier to get pre-fabricated but I'll see what Nick can do.

Cheers

Ok I spoke with Nik at ASG about the centre pipe and resonator. He tells me he thinks it will cost around $350 plus cost of install. Joel I suggest you call him today and confirm your requirement with him as he is picking up the resonator for me tomorrow.

Thanks for the tip Troy. Are these the same/inferior/superior to the AVO ones ?

Dwayne, what are you? A trouble maker? AVO is certainly not the benchmark but I guess it is the one most readily available. But it depends on who you ask, as everyone has an opinion about which is better. Otherwise it's an argument we probably won't get into again any time soon.
