MY 08 2.5T Spec B 6 speed shifter knuckle.

Postby WhiteYeti » Sat Jun 18, 2022 5:16 pm

Replacing the shifter knuckle/uni, the one that arrived is different to what came out. Can anyone tell me if the new one is ok to use or just swap the bush's around and refit the old. Car is a MY 08 2.5T GT Spec B 6 speed manual.
Cheers Whiteyeti.

Subaru do not support a Shifter Knucle Assembly for the 6MT Spec-B
If you try to install a Shifter Knucle Assembly from a %MT the gear lever will kick over toward the hand barake as the two Shifter Knucle Assembly designs are different.
You should be able to transplant the bushes from the repalcement unit into your old assembly.
As you can see, your original joint is offset, so you must be carefull to reassemble with the offset set to the correct side.

However.....If you need replacement bushes, contact CorgiWerx

Thnxs for the reply Corgi, I thought that may have been the case just double checking. I'll swap the bush's over for now and refit if the bush's fit. If they don't I'll get in contact. Cheers.

First Image, Differences between the 6MT Shifter Joint (left) and the Gen4 Liberty 5MT Shifter Joint (right).
Hint: Notice that the 6MT shifter joint is offset. It has been given a witness mark on each part to ensure it is assembled back into the correct orientation

Second image, How the 5MT Shifter Joint needs to be modified to be used on a 6MT Gearbox and reposition the gear lever back into the correct orientation
