My tuner uses Verso (open source) and will be doing a re-tune on the dyno once all mods are completed at their garage next Thursday.

Haha. Adam! That is a total hijack, you terrorist! :D

You need to start your own thread because I'm expecting you to post up pics of the install and how it looks on your car as well.

Haha. Feedback on it Chris?

But yeah, for anyone upgrading to the AVO top mount and too lazy to post up pics, just tell people to refer to my AVO post & pics. All Libs same same. :D

LOL Adam you terrorist!! No problem with you posting pic of your cooler but I am curious to know why you went with the black one rather than silver? Simply for cosmetic reasons or other?

To take a quote from the movie "Airplane" (or Flying High as it is called here in Australia for some reason):

"Adam likes his top mount intercoolers black .... like his men." :D

I was waiting a few days for the whole placebo effect thing to die down before I commented on it. But the car seems to get better once the ecu adapts to the extra airflow. Having said that, Melbourne weather has been all over the place so that could also have a noticeable effect on improved perfomance.

BUT, basically fitted it, reset the ecu and went for a [nice, quiet, legal ] drive... anyway. What I've noticed:

- car seems to rev a lot easier
- boost seems to be coming on quicker, however haven't hooked up my gauge yet so can't prove that scientifically :)
- turbo whine is a lot more audible in the cabin
- fuel economy has remained around the same, although it seems to be running slightly richer now. That'll settle post tune.

Fitting took about 35-40 minutes. I wasn't rushing though. I reckon could be done in about 20-25 the next time around. The engine cover trimming took a bit longer than I expected as I didn't have a cutting bit for the dremel to suit plastic. I had to trip the lip off the top and bottom sections of the cover. The bottom two plastic clips wouldn't line up by about 1.5mm, so I couldn't get them in but I figured have the 2 bolts up top which AVO supplied would suffice :) I might give it another go this weekend to get the clips in.

come over any time mate but unfortuately if you wanted to giggle at my mechanical ineptitude i slapped it on earlier today. i'd have to agree with everything that chriskan said except that what i've noticed about boost (only done about 50km's with no ecu reset) is that it seems the same early but gets alot more punch from high3~4 grand through to redline (which doesn't seem as absolute now)
 could all be my imagination and excitement though. i'll post some pics in a jiffy in 'post your mods' and stop hijacking this thread though.
