Introduce yourself

Numbers are great for showing your mates and posting but as a daily drive you want a tune that brings a smile to your face and makes the most of mods you have while giving you the best "economy" where possible. The new can bus ecu's on the Subaru's are very good so the potential for safe effective tuning and moding I am told.

I probably should have said "silly amounts of go" rather than directly referencing power, I'm far from a fan of dyno queens that can't translate numbers into real-world performance. But yes, if it makes me smile, it wins :)

Once the car has been running without issue for a few months I might consider changing a few things, but for now it's staying stock! It's nice to know that the ECU is up for the job though, once less thing to pay for if/when the mod bug hits.

Finally got around to taking some pics last night. I was actually taking some photos of another car for CarSales and thought I'd swing the camera around and take a few of the Subie as well, hence the less-than-artistic positioning and dodgy lighting. That, and I'm not very good with the camera haha

Anyway it was filthy at the time but the white doesn't seem to show it up too badly... hooray!!

Welcomr Marc, i have to admit, if given my purchase again i'd probably go for the white having seen how good they look. although i'd probobly get a base gt, knowing now what i ultimatley want from the car.
enjoy mate.

Thanks guys :D I'm absolutely loving the car so far, 2500km on it now and going strong. Still earning how to drive it properly but that's half the fun :) The crappy weather we've been having has allowed the AWD to prove itself repeatedly. Knowing I can give it a bit of stick if I need to without the tail kicking out (or worse, horrendous understeer) is a godsend... but of course, I'm preaching to the converted here aren't I?

@SMI77 - Plates are 232LHX, not sure whether I'll change them yet. But yeah, haven't seen many around - actually I think I'm yet to see another tb STi on the road? I know they're a limited run but I thought I'd see one or two around, maybe I'm just not looking hard enough.

@adam - thanks mate, I'm getting quite attached to the white, it's a nice crisp colour. I washed it on the weekend and it just gleamed... and it's bucketed down every day since! haha. There's certainly nothing wrong with a "base" GT, I nearly bought one until I found out about the STi, and if I was planning on modding from the outset I can't say I wouldn't have considered saving the extra coin and spending it on mods. But I just couldn't stop going back to the STi...

That's daylight robbery!
A pair of slimline "SUBNUB" plates in Victoria would cost you $395 ! (and it is still available)

REVHED is gone, but R3VH3D is available.

Yeah we get raped on plates up here, but on the upside, once you buy them there's no recurring additional cost.

Must be compensation for the awesome weather we have up here. Beautiful one day... floods and missing rooves the next
