Subaru Liberty Sedan 2010 model - No audio

Postby PG82 » Mon Sep 02, 2019 8:23 pm

Hi everyone I am seeking for advice on why my head unit is not having any audio output in my car. Since having my battery changed
in the last 12 months I have unfortunately had my audio drop out.

I have taken the car audio system for inspection too many car audio shops and they have reported to me that the speakers have been tested and they work fine. So they believe it might be a software issue with the head unit. Has anyone experienced this with their car audio? Any suggestions on how to repair it.

Cheers,

Pete

The FSM aka factory service manual will have the diagnostic tree, including which fuses etc to check, link in my signature :)

Both times I had the airbag recall done, the techs didn't plug in/check the wires on the back of the head unit. There's one that popped out, I think it's the trigger wire for the amp. This is for McIntosh equipped gen 5s.

Ok cheers fedaykin I will have a look into the wire connections at the back of the head unit. However had a car audio installer take the fascia off and remove the head unit the other day. So I don't think there this would be the case. Thanks for the heads up anyway. :)

"Subaru Liberty 2010 model sedan" doesn't tell us enough about your car. What is the actual model?

Might be applicable.
PG82 has not revealed enough about their car to work out if they have a Macintosh head unit.

Yeah. I think it is quite likely it is the McIntosh as I have rarely seen people discussing the standard audio having such issues. The McIntosh is a sensitive unit unfortunately and it is normally the amp or connection to the amp. I went through the exact same troubleshooting hell with my GT.
