Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Newbie from Melbourne

Hi guys.
Thanks for letting me on board.
I've got a 2008 Outback I purchased 8 months ago as a bit of a toy to play with.
Metallic blue and pristine black leather.
2.5, 5 speed manual/ dual range.
It had 300k kilometres (188k miles) on it....but full history.
Plan is for a 2" lift, A/T tyres, 7"tablet in dash for maps and Torque App.
Life has been good.......until today.
I was 5 minutes from home after my usual weekend trip to the family farm (380K round trip) and everything was going well....until I went around a corner at low speed and the car lost most of its drive and started clunking and kicking.
It felt and sounded like a CV had let go, but the problem was no worse when turning and is really bad when I put power on.
I'm pretty handy mechanically and have access to a workshop, so I'm gonna sort this myself.
I just need to draw on the wealth of experience I think I might find here.

By the way I do a lot of Solid Modelling and drafting so if anyone needs help with part design or drawings then hit me up!

That’s great... and bad :P
At least subies are easy and affordable to service & repair.
Most of everything you need to know is linked in my signature, btw :)

Have you put it on a hoist and had a look underneath yet?
It sounds a little similar to when a rear axle pulled out of my rear differential...

I'm going to go ahead and assume that his axle disintegrated at 100km/hr and he's recovering in hospital
