Correct there mate. The GenV box won't handle much beyond stock power. I've previously contacted AllDriveSubaroo, and they have the capability to build a stronger GenV transmission to suit however. Another option is to retrofit a non-DCCD 6speed, but that will require quite a lot of fabrication work from what I've read.

I'm selling my fully built 5EAT in the coming weeks, from a postFL gen4. If your transmission code is indeed 5EAT - you might be able to use most of the hard ware/internals inside yours, as I'm assuming at least the sensors will be different. I can look into how similar they are.

Handled 300kw for a few years just fine. Fantastic box to drive, miles better than the stock 5EAT in both putting power to the ground and response.

really cannot go through that process , cant afford any unknown path.

yeh alot of the Gen 4 and Gen 5 internals are the same, but valve body is completely different.
but im not going to do anything other then working on my own transmission if the same setup has been tested before.

sorry have not been in the forum for a while. the codes were:
P1710. Torque converter turbine 2 speed signal malfunction (stored)
P0700-Transmission control system (now)

Have to change the entire valve body , torque converter actually had no issues.
So far have not had any problems since the valve body change.

Had my PWR ALLOY radiator leak due to according to PWR "electrolysis" stray current going through radiator and corroding the core. Black marks were shown in the area of the leak and on the outlets. Im currently getting the electrcial systems tested to see if there is indeed stray current and where it is comming from. Radiaotr has only been through 10,000km.

Will update when i get some info. thought id add this information here for others who may have the same issue. Not much info on the net about this.

AUTO ELECTRICIAN tested for current and was a reading of 300mV , almost half a volt through the radiator. not supposed to be any voltage, if anything 20-50mV max, so you know what he does, the idiot grounds the raditator!!!
If that much current is running through the damn radiator it means there is a leak somewhere and you supposed to find out where the stray current is comming from. Taking it to someone else. I told him why would you ground the radiator when the subaru from factory wouldn't even ground the radiator. THERE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ANY CURRENT THROUGH THE RADIATOR !!.

NEW Auto elec could not find any current leaks anywhere and cannot explain why there is a current through the radiator. He thinks there is still a charge from my previous radiator and it should subside on its own.
They also stole my sunglasses and OBD bluetooth adapter from the car.

UPDATE: Havnt been on forum in a while, really hasnt been anything new to add since last post. I do now have stock radiator in place due to the mysterious electrolysis issue with my Full Allluminium radiotor. Car still running great after engine build on e85.

I took my hybrid turbo to turbo specialists and they cant find anything wrong with it (apparently had a massive leak when reinstalled after my turbo build) So turbo is in the process of getting balanced and re assembled. Then will reinstall turbo in the car, retune to about 21psi, that should get me to about 200-210 kw with excellent mid range power. Thats as far as im willing to push the car on the stock transmission. still not willing to play around with transmission until someone can modify 5th GEN valve bodies with good results.

Will update thread when necessary.

LONG OVERDUE UPDATE:
Hybrid vf45 18g turbo was installed a few months ago, only 185kw @ 18psi, making sure transmission holds up with the torque and my driving style before increasing boost, Currently looking at flex fuel options considering how expensive e85 has been this past few months- and then max out the turbo at about 24psi. I think Ecutek is the only platform that has flex fuel function for the Gen v's. If anyone knows of someone who has flex fueled their Gen V's with stock ecu please let me know.

Previously had my Gen V with stock ECU and a GT Pumps 3.5lm(for FA20) set up for both 98 and E70+ (ecutek)- basically had 3 tunes s# was for >E70 (IE you don't use S# with less than that) @27psi , S was for <E70 (20psi) and I mode was a "safe" fallback mode. Tuned by ADS had no issues with that. Moved to MoTec (which varies map with ethanol content), again via ADS, choose this because wanted extra protection + wideband O2 + extra sensors + have ECU that used ethanol sensor to determine mapping. It wasn't done due to any issues experienced with the Ecutek option, but it was manual choice in my old configuration. Think the COBB supports ethanol sensor for gen 5, worth looking up that option.

Yeah, what's with E85 jumping in price so much in recent months? :angry2:

I know different dynos are comparing apples to oranges and auto gearboxes muddy the water a lot..... BUT for my own interest I compared your dyno chart to mine (2.5L, VF46, 4-speed auto viewtopic.php?f=10&t=36234 1st post ).

Our power levels are virtually identical between 85kph and 165kph. The differences are:-

1. my power ramp-up starts at 60 kph (not 85kph);

2. your power level is still climbing at the top-end while mine is tapering-off;

3. your boost level is holding pretty steady (2psi taper-off) while mine has a more substantial drop from 17/18psi down to 14psi

Presumably your dyno chart is indicative of a larger turbo with more potential, while mine shows a turbo well & truly maxed-out (albeit with more responsiveness).

I'm looking forward to seeing the results of your higher-boost tune. That should put an end to the "similar power at similar speed" thing :p

im assuming your Gt pumps Turbo was not a direct bolt on? Did it need alot of custom work to make it happen? Is your car manual? What power level did you reach? Not many people with highly modified Gen v's around. I checked with the Rumble shack and ECUTEK supports flex fuel so i will got with that option soon. I spoke to COBB, they dont have Flex support for Gen V.
