Just bought 2005 3.0R

Postby juniormachinist » Fri Oct 05, 2018 7:18 pm

Hi guys,
Recently bought myself a 2005 3.0r wagon.
Had some minor scuffs and dings (expected for a 12 year old car)
Installed a grom bluetooth kit, car had factory satnav so added a reversing camera.
After having the car for 3 weeks a major headgasket leak appeared after some argument the car yard i purchased it from agreed to fix it for cost of parts
Next mods planned are either a xforce cat back system or a whiteline sway bar kit.
Anyone in Victoria have a recommendation on where to get the xforce system from?

Automatic or the splendid 6MT Manual?

MY2005 should be the manual.

sucks about the gasket. i'd be pissed.

I've got a gen V so not sure if it's the same but I found the Xforce really hard to get here, no one really stocks it. and the import costs are huge. for the same cost you can get a TBE from AVO with cash left over.

also depends what you want, more sound or better handling. what do you do more frequently, corner hard or ride the exhaust note?

Ah you've got turbo model. Mines an n/a 3.0 liter so exhausts are different. Probably will end up doing both at once. Save on labour by installing it all myself so will have a bigger budget
