I have a New Zealand new Legacy ( Liberty ) Spec B 3.0 auto, MY2007. Completely original. Lovely car.

Now, my question relates to the gear lever surround. Check out my one below.

Now check out this one. This one is Australian new, same MY2007 as mine. See the extra rectangular silver trim piece and the leather boot around the gear lever? Was that an optional extra when the car was new? Or aftermarket?

While I'm at it, my NZ car has a single prop rod for the bonnet, old style, that clips down across the front by the radiator. The Aust car has twin gas struts. Are the gas struts legit equipment, or aftermarket stuff?

my my08 tbsti lib does not have gas struts

as for the lever, i have manual transmission so i cant comment there
