I keep the original disc in the Nav booklet (which lives in the glovebox) for those disconnected battery moments.

Yep it's sitting in the glovebox with the manuals etc.

Actually I just noticed this site apparently selling a V24 for $150

Anyone know anything about them?

just based on how the website looks, I wouldn't trust it - most sites selling this sort of thing would outline what the version includes and/or what has been updated at minimum, but nothing to be foun d here. from memory, the official page for the software is navshop.com.au but it appears to be down.

also, C1-V22 for Gen4 and C2-V23 for Gen5 still appear to be the latest versions which are both available in this thread somewhere.

Yeah that was my thought as well. I've already done the V23 but was just curious as it popped up when I was looking.

Cheers!

Hi, all

This is my first message in this forum and I registered to post a thank-you message to the helpers in this message. I have a Tribeca 2013 which uses C1 Denso DVD. I have looked for the map update for a long time since I bought this car new and th cost of 300 AUD stopped me from updating it as it's not a permanent cost it is just one update only. Hence, for so many years I had to buy an iphone app called Sygic and it has been working fine since but I always prefer using the car nav system with updated map. I got your C1 Denso zipped file for version 22 and the DVD worked perfectly no need to me to do any further installation in the car. So, if you also use C1 Denso DVD like me, please note the following if you are not a tech person and do not know how to burn it into a DVD and make it work, as follows:

1. To know if you use C1 or C2 you will need to go to napshop.com.au and select your car. On the narrative it will tell you what version C1 or C2 your car is using. Then select the file to download accordingly.

2. Once donwloaded in your PC, it will be a zipped file using 7z. If you use Windows 7 or 10, you can unzip this easily in your PC without installing the 7z software. Otherwise download the software to unzip.

3. Unzip it into a single ISO file.

4. This is the tricky part to non-tech person and I believe this is where some person reports it is not working for them (other than the reason that you select wrong C1 into C2 and vice versa). When you burn it into DVD, if you use a software (say Roxio or ImgBurn because you don't have built-in software in Win 7 or 10), you must select the option to burn ISO image. It is because when you do this, it will expand the ISO file into many files into the DVD. If you burn in a way that you only have the single ISO file in the DVD, I believe it will not work in your car as your car will not understand what is ISO file.

5. If you use Win 10 for example, burning it easy. Copy the ISO (about 4.4GB for C1) into DVD and right click and burn into image.

6. When you burn with software say ImgBurn, you must also select the option to verify files after burning. If not, when done, view the files in the DVD you must see many files and folders not just a single ISO file. Then it's good.

7. Now you remove the old DVD in your car and insert this new in, it will work perfect. This is the case for me.

I do not mind about joining you later on for the group buy in the next update of the map so I will check this frequently. Thank you all for this file. It's a great find for me with my Tribeca. I have another car Forester XV 2012 and it uses SD card and I can't find any update for it I think it is more likely I would need to pay 165 AUD for the update of the maps on Subaru website. With this model, there is no free map update unless I think I need to buy model from 2016 or later. If you know how to update map into SD card please let me know.

Try burning it again, but not the same method you used.

I am sorry for a late reply I saw our post about a few days ago but I forgot to reply to you. As Fedaykin told you above, I think you might burn the file wrongly into the DVD and this is why it's not working. If you have time please read my message above in relation to how to burn so that you do correctly. When you download it will be a zipped file with extension as 7z. I think you have done but if not done, use software to unzip into single ISO file. When you burn you must select the option to burn an ISO file so that when in the DVD it must expand into many files. Please have a look in your DVD in Windows Explorer to see how many files you have in the DVD it must be a series of many files not a single ISO file for your car to understand how it runs.

I can only guess. I think this is the most mistake a user makes if he or she is not IT tech. My Tribeca is still using V1 version of the software hence I cannot tell you exactly how to fix as the file you have is different from the file I had but I strongly believe the concept of burning into DVD is the same. Hope it would work for you this time.

I am a new member that has been lurking for some time. I am an active member on subaruoutback.org with the same user name.

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the contributors of this topic. About a year ago I was able to get an update to the maps for my 2011 Outback with a Macintosh system. These updated maps were much better than the original maps that were in the vehicle when I purchased it just a few months before. The map update I got then, and I am still using was the Summer_Holiday V23 C2 version.

I notice that the v25 maps are now available and I was wondering if anyone knows of where I can download that version from at no cost or maybe version V24?

I have noticed that there have been mentions of a group buy previously and I am happy to be involved in this if someone is organising one or has already done so.

Thanks Seagrass

You have v14, which my car came with (a 2008 MY09). So your Maps are still the original ones it came with from 2009.

Yes. I haven't tried that exact link, but an image file is just burnt onto a DVD. Remember to keep the original disk because you'll need it after battery disconnect.
