HELP! steering wheel wanders

Postby ck5533 » Mon May 14, 2018 2:00 pm

I have just bought a gen5 liberty 2011 sedan on Saturday. Everything is fine except this..

Vehicle sways side to side from one side of road to other side of road at highway speeds around 60 kmh. When vehicle is driven about 45 had not effect on steering. When driven on the highway the steering pulls extremely, unable to control the steering wheel while griping the steering wheel hard.

Is this how the AWD suppose to be or there is a problem with it?

If you have a similar issue before, please let me know how did you fix it?

Is this covered under 3 month statutory warranty from used car dealer?

many thanks

I have a test drive last night around suburbs & highway for about 20km. It seems all the above listed problems have disappeared!!

I don't know why.

My mechanic advised me that it properly due to imbalance or misalignment of tyres.

I will test drive again something this week.

stay tune.

Could be the tyres on the particular road you were on, they can 'tramline' which does sort of what you explained.
