Guys and Gals please help!!!is this a GT spec b?

Postby ozzy » Fri Feb 23, 2018 1:11 pm

hello,

My first post. Just negotiating with a dealer for a long wanted Liberty GT-B.
Im in VIC they are in NSW. Have had the car inspected by a professional and came back all clear with the exception of wear an tear for its age.

But is it a Spec B? It has the wheels but the shocks look standard as in the pics below.
The pedals are also rubber ones not the Sport pedals.

What to you guys think? Is there any other way to identify the Spec b?

The vehicle does not have a Spec-B Front Bumper
There were a small number of Automatic GTs (not Spec-B) that were not Spec-B
These were fitted with the otherwise standard post-facelift Front Bumper.

By your comment about the pedals, it is more likely than not a standard Auto GTm, not a Spec-B

If you are serious, get the VIN and ring Subaru Australia and check.
You could use the pretense that you are checking whether the air bag recall work has been done and ask them to confirm the model at the same time.

Why would you even want an auto spec b?

The best thing about the spec b was the 6 speed manual and r180 diff. Being auto , you pretty much get nothing worthwhile from calling it a spec B.

But yeah get the parts department to lookup the vin, they would be able to tell you more than the sales department generally (if this is sold at a suby dealership).

Couldnt see shocks in the pics there - they should be gold/yellow Bilsteins - your pics didnt come up for me. Where is the VIN also ? Agree about the 6spd box, but autos can be good gear changers on a turbo.
