So after making a financially inadvisable purchase on yahoo auctions I am looking at blue stitching.

After having a look online and finding an interesting idea on the nsx forum I figured I would give it a go.

The part to do was my centre console cover. The basic principle is pretty easy, use an upholstery needle and thread of your select colour and go over the stitches.

To start I doubled the thread as a single line wouldn't be enough, then I tied an anchoring Knot in the end.
Image

Because of the way the stitching is, I skipped every second stitch, then at the end looped around and came back to do the ones I had missed.

It took a few hours, but I just watched stuff and did it, so it wasn't too bad, only downside is sore fingers.
But I'm happy with the end result, and it'll go well with my other blue stitching.

I'm hoping at some point to pick up the seats from a wrb liberty from Japan because they had really nice seats with blue central panels which I like.

In other news I got a kicker hideaway sub, just to get a bit more oomph without sacrificing any boot space.

Mate that looks amazing, when I get onto painting my car, which is going to be Nardo Grey, a grey and blue theme is what I'll going for. Gives me some ideas for the interior

Love it, did you use upholstery thread?
I can source it around the corner from me at M.Recht, they stock at least 2 blues iirc...

Grey and blue would look so good!

I really want a set of these

Just need to wait until I'm back at work

And I didn't, I looked at the upholstery threads, but none of the blues were close to what I wanted.

I’ll ask her ladyship to snap the colour chart next time she’s there :)

Thanks, still definitely a work in progress, but getting there.

Speaking of progress, I decided to try something a little different to Benny's suggestions in trying to make it a little louder. First I decided to find out what the '15 sti mufflers actually look like internally.
Image
Easy enough thanks to someone else who has cut them open.

I decided not to go all out, as it's a lot harder to make it quiet than to make it louder. Rather than just cut the inlet pipe so that it flows directly into the outlets I decided to cut a small hole so that I could drill a couple of holes into the inlet pipe.
Image

I only did this on one side for now as I didn't want to go too far. Honestly though, after driving for a bit, I will probably just end up cutting the inlet pipe in both.

Also, as a reference, here is a video of what they sounded like stock (XForce catback, sti mufflers).

A parcel arrived from Japan today, containing some sweet sweet Damd goodness.

First things first, out with the old

Then I just had to transfer everything over, and put the new wheel in.

Still yet to go for a drive with it, but so far I really like it, lets hope steering wheel number 4 is the last one.

It looks amazing man, I really wish I did blue stitching when I got my wheel but it would've looked strange with the boots and seats. When I paint the car I for sure will be. Had another read over the whole thread, the car is coming along so nicely man. You really have done an incredible job. Giving me alot of motivation with my car. Side note, are those hand controls?

Cheers man, much appreciated, I know I've looked at your thread a few times when I have been doing things on mine. Your car is looking incredible.

And yeah, they are, the car used to belong to my step-dad who is in a wheelchair, but I keep them in for if he ever needs to drive the car. They are pretty cool though, twist for accelerate and push for brake.

Small update, my driver's side front speaker stopped working. I did a couple of tests and narrowed it down to being an issue with the speaker wire.

So today was the day I tackled pulling everything apart and running a new line.
Image

First up, seats out, and centre console taken out. As you can see from this photo, the underseat wiring is a bit of a mess, so I took this as an opportunity to tidy it up and cable tie some of it so that it was a bit nicer.

As always I was terrible for forgetting to take photos, but I got one when it was mostly apart.
Image

All in all it was a bit of a pain, but there weren't any real issues, and the speaker is now working again.

I don't have much planned in the immediate future, low-key saving for a GT, but I know that the timing belt (probably do oil pump at the same time) will need doing on this soon, so that will be coming up. Otherwise I might order some new floor mats as the oem rubber ones are worn and broken in a lot of places.

Well, slightly sad post, as any further posts will be about servicing/reverting the Liberty to stock in order to sell it.

On the plus side, a faster upgrade will hopefully be happening on Monday and along with it a new build thread.

Epic man, sad to say after a long and hard think I'll be doing the same shortly. Oh well bigger and better hey?

Very excited to see the new beast!

So, just a small update, I have started stripping out a lot of the custom parts.
Image

I also swapped the wheels with the new car.
Image
I also discovered that postFL spec b wheels don't fit over 4 pots very well. Not a huge issue, as brakes are being reverted to stock anyway.

I also cleared the headlights and got the mechanical stuff partially ready to do.
