Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Didnt damage glovebox, just the dash above there was visibly bruised, where they probably had to urge it back into place. I expect the marks to fade over time, its not real obvious unless you look for it. Re the spare, service manage said the tech didnt mark the spare as checked, but somebody else assumed he had, and ticked the box. All ok in my mind now.

Ah ok, that all makes sense.

I had mine done last week, wish I had read this first and had taken pictures... I have a custom tablet in the dash where the factory GPS would go, looks like they had trouble getting this out and have put some small gouges in the dash, yes they're small, but weren't there before..! Thinking they used the yellow handled Stanley dash removal tool..

Additionally does anyone have the service bullitien for this, would like to know what they needed to pull out and why. One of the drivers seat bolt cover panels was off and there is visible/tell tale marks on the drivers seat bolts too.. eg they have been touched.

Goodness me, back to the dealership tomorrow and would like to be prepared/armed, any info appreciated..

Thanks Tom. Ive been putting it off for awhile but safety comes first and the 3rd reminder is enough to get my arse into gear. Ive been putting it off along with the secondary air pump issue but my pump burnt out ages ago and even had matt to disable the code so probably no point in getting it replaced.

Had mine done a couple of months ago and unfortunately despite me taking photos before and asking them to take extra care with the dash given it is way too easy to damage they damaged it around the LCD screen surround. Two small gouges (not dents) that won't heal. I am very pedantic but decided not to pursue it. They are minor but what can you expect really the dash is like cheese.

More idiocy. Lately I have 2 robo phone calls about this recall....both about the 2004 Outback I traded on the GTB in 2008! I called back, and tried to explain both times - I havent owned that car since 2008, I traded it in with a Subaru dealer, so they should have all the info on who owns it now......blah blah. Even when they wrote me about the gtb I do own, when I called to repond they were confused about who/what/where/when, and still confused when I booked it in to do the job. Hopeless mob.

Did you have to argue your case much? Same thing has happened to me. But feel it's been too long for me to say anything.

No argument or anything. They took photos the day it happened. The service manager was pretty pissed at the installer

No argument form me either (end of last year). The dealerships will gladly do it as long Subaru Australia approves it and pays.

Remember that the dash deterioration (shininess and cracking) is what is covered, not necessarily the damage from the airbag work. The dealers don't like admitting fault to causing damage.
And being polite goes a long way. I said I had read that Subaru is offering a Dash replacement on a case-by-case basis, so they agreed to take pictures and ask. Within a week, they had approved it.

I got no damage in this recall, but my mate did - 'it was like that' they told him. I suggest anybody putting car in for any work where the interior or panels are concerned, tell the service rep booking your car in to make a note of the condition of the relevant area on the book in sheet before you leave it. I did this for the pump harness recall, (as it involves the rear seta being lifted), and the guy asked if I wanted him to see something specific - No just note the condition please. He then got the message, gave me a wry smile, inspected both sides of the rear and wrote something on the sheet. Came back OK. Hire car companies usually write up a condition dwg when you take a car, so you can both check when it comes back.
