It is running a very recent hands on tune from Matt/KiDo, goes extraordinarily well.

This past weekend were were range driving and followed a new AUDI S3 Sedan (2.0 TSFI engine), after a bit old mate Audi driver decides to up the ante a bit as you might when you got a VERY sweet looking $60+k car to show off.

From my experience in this instance, a tuned up 3.0 spec B Lib with headers, RAM INTAKE and Matt tune will nicely put away this fancy Audi model, firstly in cornering/road holding, secondly the S3 (2.0 turbo) simply cannot out accelerate the H6 3.0.

You dont need to spend $60+k if you want good handling and great acceleration in an AWD car. Yes, that AUDI is the sexiest thing, and its just awesome in so many ways, but when push comes to shove a well set up Lib 6 will toast it.

Hi Tim, don't want to steal your thunder but I need to add to your post.

I've had my Spec.B from new and from the first drive I new that the H6 was a great package. I test drove both the turbo and H6 back to back and the Spec.B was the pick of the two. These engines don't have much below 3000rpm but once you get them above that they really sing! As Tim posted above you can give many an expensive car a run for it's money. Just use the six speed gearbox to good advantage and keep the engine in it's sweet spot (3800 - 5500rpm) and think through your drive and you will have a smile on your face as wide as the H6's block!

With some smart improvements the H6 can be a very nice car to drive.

I can't possibly imagine what a supercharged H6 drives like.

What suspension set up does your car have?

Added a recent tune revision by Matt to better compliment the STAGE 4 RAM INTAKE - a touch more beast factor than before, incredibly powerful for an NA 3.0

Had to use a HAVOLINE (CALTEX retail) brand oil on the last service, not by choice but actually its up to service time and the motor is still running really sweet where most oils are giving up the ghost by the 5000km mark. Here is the boring spec sheet for it http://www.caltex.com.au/FPL%20PDS/Havo ... 0Blend.pdf. Also nil consumption across the 5000km

Been busy replacing suspension parts, front sway bar link ends, also 1 rear sway bar link end, front sway bar bushes. Subaru parts prices on these items has been quite reasonable.

Urgently needs a caster kit for front left

Otherise - going strong :)

Not for the past year, I might just try and get it onto the rollers, there is a nice AWD Dyno only 10 mins away

Hey Tradewind, sorry to bring up old news but I was recently shown an eBay link to the head gasket kit you used on your repair last year and I was just wondering how that's still going for you?
And did you source the kit from the states through eBay?
I guess I'm always just a little cautious when it comes to an eBay purchase. Especially for the car so I was just wondering what you have thought so far?
Oh and just also how much the gasket kit set you back. I've heard of Subaru parts being a lot cheaper in the states but $250(inc shipping) just seems almost to good to be true when kits with less in them are $500 - $750 here.

Cheers!

Hey, no worries

I used the Victor Reinz product (gasket kit), every gasket included and a flawless product. They are in my engine and in others who I sold a few gasket kits too at the time. They come highly recommended

Pic of the gasket set is attached

The part number: HS54655

This kind of deal isnt overly bad either for OEM stuff

This chapter of the book is closing. Our Liberty is going to a new owner very shortly. The findings and the products developed from experiences with this car have benefited many people globally and that part (the products) will continue for a long time to come

So, its onward and we soon expect to welcome a 6GEN 3.6R into the development garage. From this, there will be headers, an intake system and also as you would expect, supercharger systems.

Thanks for your work on the 3RBs. :)

The Gen 6s are actually styled very nicely. Gen 2, Gen 4, Gen 6... seems to be a trend..?
