Cheap GT Front O2 sensor

Postby Whacky_ricer » Wed Jan 04, 2017 9:41 am

Hi all,

If any lib gt owners are in need of a new front O2 sensor, I just bought one from this ebay vendor:

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301907503530

No connection to me, but seemed a good deal for genuine oem sensor, $205 and free postage. Mine was delivered and is legit, in oem packaging. This is the redesigned sensor,

22641AA391 which supercedes 22641AA390 and 22641AA220

Mods feel free to move post if required.

Cheers.

That's a pretty good price, and local too.

Image

Changed yesterday, cel cleared and car runs much smoother.

Picture shows old vs new sensor design. Assuming mine was original from factory.

Fyi, a bit of a pain to get these off, not much clearance to turn a spanner back there. Bought a special o2 sensor socket for the job but no room to use it. Ended up using an open ended 22 mm spanner.

easy way to do it for future reference is to undo the connector, slide a ringy over the connect and wiring, that way you got a good grip on it.

Thanks Jarrenowen, should've thought of that.

Vinshonz, my symptoms were solid cel light and flashing cruise light, as well as poor fuel econ and rich smelling exhaust from overfueling. I think around 125-150,000 k's is when they tend to fail.
