I have a 5GEN Liberty GT auto Wagon, completely standard but I've been thinking about a tune for a while, mainly to improve the gearbox and fuel economy. Does anyone know if a tune would improve the gear change response? In particular my auto like to hang on to high revs when I ask it to change down.

EDIT: I've since made contact with Matt and booked for his next visit to Sydney

I have a Gen V gt 2014. Looking for the same result basically. Booked in with Matt late October ish.
You'll have to let me know how it goes. I'm pretty excited about it!

You'll be grinning ear to ear :D

wow, is this the first 6MT swap in aus? Care to elaborate on the conversion? Will SubaruAUS still warranty the car? What gearbox was used in the conversion? Any issues getting everything to mate up?
Cheers

Suspect Subaru AU wouldn't warrant the car given such a substantial change but meh the joys of a 6MT would be totally worth it :D

Be interesting to know what was involved in the process!!

I met Matt this morning and had my MY10 Auto tuned (my first tune in my first turbo car). I'm more than happy with the results, the car drives the way it should now.

The main thing I wanted was better response at low revs driving around town, and sorting the random 5 speed auto gearbox. Both of those things are miles better now, it's a different car to drive. The car really has a sense of urgency at low throttle movements, S is more like how S# was before. The gear changes are much faster. S# is just silly now

I was also really keen on getting better fuel consumption figures, and whilst it's too early to tell yet it does seem better.

Matt sure know's his stuff, it was a really interesting hour driving around the area hearing some of his stories, and keeping an eye out for the rozzers on a weekend with double demerits! There are so many things he has tweaked in the ROM, I can hardly remember half of the stuff he said. I do remember him telling me about a very silly tune he's just done on an AMG merc though, dam those must be quick :D

Cheers Matt!

Hey guys
Great meeting up with everyone over the last few days. Short notice change of venue and not knowing the area caused a few delays but hopefully back in Altona again in November where I wont need to suffer through traffic in the Melbourne CBD.

As far as I know, first swap was done 11 days after release so would definitely have to be a first. Three cars converted(car 3 was in driveway awaiting pickup due to the long weekend and workshop being shut)
Conversion is quite simple, 2 have had STi boxes and 1 with a WRX box. Conversion itself is quite straight forward and looks almost OEM... Car 1 has been back to the dealership and even they were confused at how OEM it looks

Yep! Just need to sort out the ID1000s, would be great to have them in the car and know that all is ok prior to installing the SC but probably will end up doing those at the same time as the SC install.

Just want to remove as many variables/unknowns as possible before trying to add all that powah...
