Closed deck block...is it STI block?

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

Closed deck block...is it STI block?

I am speaking with someone for a new replacement bottom end block for a 04 liberty gt.
He says it's a closed deck block and reckons it's semi forged.
He quoted me 1.5 for it.
Good deal

I think the only closed deck block from factory was from a early 90's ej20.

Like the rs liberty gen 1.

So probably if closed deck stock engine then it's probably 20 years old.

Not really worth 1.5k unless recently rebuilt.

On the other hand if it was a built engine that was not closed deck from the factory, might be worth it.
