MY07 Liberty 3.0R Spec.B Exhaust Advice

Postby 07libz » Tue Jul 05, 2016 9:48 pm

Hey everyone, been considering since I bought my car of getting a few little things done to it and was looking for some advice. Don't get me wrong this is an awesome car stock but can't help but think with a little bit of money it could be a whole lot better.

I've had a bit of a look around the forums and think for my needs a new muffler would do the job. I'm not really after performance and really just want some sort of note to come out the back as the stock system is a bit bland. I am just after something that sounds pretty pure, but by no means excessively loud. I think I saw a TCP quad tip which sounded pretty good, but not sure how accurate that would be considering that was on a GT-B. What are the best places around Brisbane and what sort of costs would I be looking at?

Also for a muffler alone I don't think a tune is necessary, but I do remember reading a whole ago there was a tune going around for the EZ30 which could significantly reduce fuel and of course improve the performance of the engine. Just wondering opinions on that, considering its not really for super performance.

Oh and there's a rattle in the front door when playing music, but that's another story

Cheers

Thanks, that'd be awesome. Is the rest of the system stock?

Any luck with the video mate?

Would love to hear your thoughts since its been a few weeks from install... Is there any drone or has it become overly loud? Cheers

If you just change the mufflers and leave the rest stock, it won't drone too much just have a bit more of a note which sounds like what you are after.

Also I'd recommend a tune even though you aren't after huge performance increases but you'll notice a nice difference even stock and probably better fuel economy (although not required with a muffler). Send a message to KiDo tuning for fairly cheap tuning that is very popular around here

Yeah that sounds like me in a nutshell at this stage. Muffler and tune, already messaged the kido facebook page, would you suggest I message on here or somewhere else (the throttlehappy page?).

Any chance you could record a driving clip to hear how it sounds under load?

With the H6 auto I found full catback drones under load when accelerating, kinda like all the commodores going round

Yeah will do one under load when I get someone to hold my phone whilst recording lol, but because its a stock system and not a full cat back, its a really good sound and not droney at all.
