Since my BtSsm was nicked, its been quite a while since I've logged n LV'd the car, maybe 3 months?
Ignorance is certainly bliss, at least till the wakeup call rings...
Thats a record for me for sure, well I made an LV this eve and... WOW! Houston, we have a problem!
First time in my ownership I've seen my IAM drop and these positive values in the timing corrections, can anyone shed light on the possible issues to hunt down?
I did make a log this eve and boost seemed to peak at around 13psi instead of the usual 15...
I'll defo analyse it in MegaLog Viewer and get back.
As usual, its time to hit the books:
To quote: the RomRaider topic:
Subaru's knock control strategy explained"It is better to think of following as three distinct means of knock control:
1. Negative FBKC
2. Changes to the current IAM.
3. Changes to the current FLKC cell (note this is different than applied FLKC).
That is, only one is active at any given time based on what would be appropriate for the given conditions. So, in order for the IAM to change, the "severe" knock would have to occur when the ECU is in rough correction mode, FBKC is disabled, and the conditions to make a change to the IAM are met. So, basically, the corrective action that is taken is dependent on which knock control method is active at the time and whether certain conditions were met (although some values, such as FLKC, may partially impact mode selection as described earlier). "
We can see the ECU must have seen a crapload of knock, dropped the IAM, things went back to normalish and positive timing correction was applied almost across the board?
I can see how this could have happened, I drove the car exclusively for weeks in "i" mode, and whaled on it, lotsa launches at WOT in first only... Its fun...
Then did same in "S" mode, I guess the car had a hard time readjusting?
