Hey all,

So the oil should be on Full at operating temperatures right? But when empty would it be inclined to be below or above the Full measurement?

I remember mine being in the middle when I checked with the mechanic last time and he said its OK but I had doubts.. :(

When the engine is cold the level should be somewhere in between the two holes

I use around the 6.5ltr mark. Cant remember if that includes a quick rinse before refitting the sump plug

Mine is a post facelift, and it wanted 6 litres including the filter last service to get it to the top mark on the dip stick.
Not sure if there is a difference between pre face and post face

I've also found 6.5 litres goes in and puts the oil right on the full mark once its warmed up.

First time poster, been interested in buying a 3.0 Liberty in the next couple of months. I'm curious, shouldn't the low oil level light come on to say that the oil level is low before there is a problem?

That only indiciates low oil pressure, it only need 7psi for it to be considered high oil pressure.

In other words, as useful as tits on a bull

It's known as the 'change engine' light.

They do not feature a low oil level light

There is only the oil pressure light, once that comes on you change the motor - as many have found out.

Just checked my EZ30... it was below the low marker on the dipstick... have had it for about 2 weeks now so I left it a little late to check but I'm glad I got around to it tonight. Just found some 10w-40 lying around so will put it in.
