I wouldn't mind a retune when I get headers & exhaust though. Mind PMing me the details of how it works?

Anyone know where you can calibrate a speedo? At 100kph I'm doing 92kph on the correct rim and tyre :/

Well that's clocking up useless K's and I like to know exactly what I'm doing haha!

No worries, I'll await your reply.

As for updates - Not too much, put my plates on and the custom number plate surrounds to hide the white outline on the plates. Looks much better than pictures, please excuse Iphone pics.

I also removed the yellow wrap on the foglights so they're now white also.. Offically no more gold on the car haha!

Speedo is out, but odometer should be fairly accurate. You can "correct" speedo by changing tyres. Going up to 225 from stock 215 will get you ~3% closer to true speed.

Not sure why the odometer would be accurate, it reads off your speed sensor and if that's wrong then the ks will be too.

Yeah 225 still won't get me up there - I'm curious if its something Subaru can code into the cluster

the speedo recieves a signal in that says 100km/hr, and it presents 108km/hr to you. The distance calculation OTOH is accurate.

I see what you're saying - I wonder why they made it project 8% higher, I could understand 2-3% but anyway that clears that up.

This issue seems to be a common Subaru problem.... I was running 18s on my WRX and reverted back to 17s with the same problems... I've just adjusted my thinking and travel faster...
Below car has been gone for quite some time now... blew bottom end bearing and dealership screwed me! Now driving 2008 WRX with ~65k kms on the clock. Only has cat back exhaust and tune by KiDo at the moment! More to come... but slowly!

Purchased recently (12/11/2013), already with: Stage 2 Pedders lowered springs, rear Whiteline sway bar, Advan Racing TCII 18x8 wheels, k&N pod filter, custom 3" exhaust system from turbo back with Magnaflow mufflers. ECUTEK tune of some sort (hopefully soon to be fixed)..... now FIXED!! Now KiDo Tuned!
Added: HID kit, EZ lip equivalents to the front and sides, and various LED treatments, oem boot spoiler, [LGT WRC] plates, GFB Respons BOV for extra Pssscchhh! --> Gone... I couldn't afford it's heart transplant... but keep a look out, as it will come back on sale soon!

I do the same thing and travel faster also haha!

Ordered some LED reverse lights from HKS180 as I cannot even see through the tint at night, hopefully makes a big difference!

Cheers mate!

On another note, does anyone have issues with their gearbox on a cold startup in the morning? Soon as the car is warm, it's perfect. When the car is cold, shifting from 3rd gear back into 2nd/1st is very hard, and shifting from neutral to 1st is also difficult. When I say difficult, i don't have to slam it in there it just needs a little bit of force or a rev of the engine to pop it in.

Maybe I need a better gearbox oil that's good on lower temps? Soon as the car warms up it's good as gold.

Mine's exactly the same, when it's cold it's a struggle to get it into second sometimes. I think it's just the gearbox

If that's the case I reckon next service i'll put in a different temp range gearbox oil or something and try it out. Getting up at 6AM and the thing can be a prick to get into 1st at the lights until about 5 mins into the drive.

Okay, so little updates.

I bought some X-Force mufflers from another user on here and they sound pretty good, add a bit of a note to the car but not overly too loud. 4" tips look a-bit out of place but they'll do the job for now.

As a big update, my clutch has fried itself. It has been slipping heaps lately and as of this morning it cooked itself and it's almost unable to be driven. I would say it's because the clutch the previous driver put in it, wasn't made for every day driving but for track days so the everyday driving has killed it really quickly.

So i've ordered a FJK-7737HD clutch which i should see in a couple of days, then get the car booked in to get it changed hopefully next week with it's 78000km service.

Well new clutch is all fitted up and works perfectly! Old clutch was absolutely stuffed.

The flywheel off my Stage 3 Hyper single clutch kit didn't fit the Exedy HD, so i had to get a new flywheel also...

But for anyone who wants to know for future reference this fits the 2008 3.0R

Exedy F503 Flywheel kit
Exedy FJK-7737HD Clutch kit

The old flywheel has been machined because we didn't know if it wasn't going to fit, so I will be selling this shortly. The flywheel is Chromoly and light weight so it'll be good to someone who wants the hyper clutch kit.
