My mechanic had to remove the dump pipe to wrap my headers. I think he soaked the wrap in water first then, wrapped it, waited till it was reasonably dry and refitted the dump. The heat then helped solidify the wrap into it's position.

ahh dear.. dont know if i have the time for that much effort :/

seems to spool fast for such a large turbo. My headers really help too though.
I have perrin uppipe blanket On and headers wrapped 2 layers.

Was slightly spinning front wheels changing to 2nd....at not many psi either. Finally think i will see the potential of this motor 8)

interesting! i hope that the spool difference can be attributed at least partially to the wrap, i wonder what the contribution of the killer b headers are, being both EL but also a novel design. One of the best sounding EL headers at any rate. Shame about the price tag

Bought my killerb headers years ago when they were just starting out for 35% than they cost now, jeez they have gotten exxxy due to exchange rate!

Had good look at engine bay, all good! very fortunate indeed.

Replaced crappy hose and now no leaks.

Idled car for 2 hours while I talked with my engine builder about some great PCV solutions he has ben trialling on his race car.

Going round in the next few weeks to see whats going on and will move to one of these solutions that stops all oil going into the intake 100%.

:D

Will try to drive to work, 12kms tomorrow...fingers crossed, all good.

did about 60kms today, needs tune as new mid pipes and turbo flow more at light boost an mid rpm.
honestly spool is good, starts sucking at 2500rpm and once headers are hot goes hard by somewhere in the mid 3000's.
Gonna go for drive on weekend to test out a bit more at higher speeds after doing an all important LV.

All running well now, no smoke issue either.
Must have been last turbo.

About to go and fit a custom stainless steel speedflow turbo oil feed which will let my piping relax and avoid other piping.

Mmmmm quality from Couplers Malaga as usual.

With my headlamp on while installing the new oil feed I have seen an issue....

The ATP oil drain fouls on the inside up pipe bracket!

Gotta take turbo back off to fix.

Do I really need that bracket?

Or will I have to mod and keep using?

REALLLY FRUSTRATING TO HAVE TO DO ALL OF THIS AGAIN!!!

Nice ride, one of if not the best Pre-FL I have seen.

Re the PCV, on my Gen1 I designed my own breather system using an additional one way valve and 3-port catch can to prevent oil entering back through the intake side under varying boost and vacuum conditions. I have a write-up on the RSLiberty forums with a diagram if you are interested. I can't imagine the breather system is too different if any different on a Gen4. It definitely cleaned up the intake after installing it.

issue caused by turbo being clocked incorrectly for ADM install, the turbo drain on the CHRA points the wrong way by 10degrees or so.

Gotta loosen the exhaust housing and WG, test install and then rotate for good clearance of the drain then tighten rear housing in the correct position, remove and tighten rest of rear housing bolts.

Finished for tonight but will commence the reinstallation tomorrow after work as I gotta pickup a fancy hose clamp before I can proceed.

Gotta get it back together for Saturday meet/cruise!
