Mine was fully stapled and taped up neatly. The rubber o-ring was in its plastic bag but under the styrofoam. Not saying you haven't done so already but have you had a good look at all the packaging for the o-ring?

Yeah, I did, I even went out to my driveway to see if it fell out there.

Hi Troy,

No the staples were not very good. Although my box wasn't "open" the staples were quite loose and the box did come open quite easily when I pulled on the lid.

Please take this as constructive feedback - definitely tape or plastic wrap boxes like these when you courier them.

I got all the items except the "freebie" lanyard/stickers. I'm not too worried, but if you want to send me some I'll be more than happy to accept (and display and wear with pride  )

Everything else seems great. TMIC and TBH were in nice sealed plastic bags. And definitely can't complain about price. Cheers.

Installed mine today. Took a lot longer than Matt/Shav's 10 minute miracle install. I really struggled with getting the TBH to line up properly. It's also quite a tight fit so it's quite difficult working with the BOV return hose (which is rigid and bolted in place). Anyway, was finally successful and it fits all good. Engine cover fits too. Had to trim some more off the engine cover as the BOV angle or position is a little different from stock. I had already made a hole in the engine cover previously for the Kobe hybrid BOV I've had for a while.

One thing I was a little disappointed about was the amount of dust and crap inside the TMIC. The thing comes nicely sealed in a bag which gives you an impression it'll be pristine and clean inside. But they obviously do not clean them properly after manufacture. It's either aluminium dust from the casting/welding/machining process or perhaps from the powder coating process. I sloshed some methylated spirits though mine and tried to clean it out as best I could with a rag. I definitely recommend everyone to do this before installing. This is no critisism of Jack or Troy, but Mishimoto could definitely improve this aspect of their product.

Thanks for that gene. I didnt even check mine for residue. That said, I havent had any issues since the tune. Hoping its all been blown out now. Good point though.
Yeah there is a method of making the unit fit as you say. Noticed matt knew what he was doing so his method worked a treat.

What were your initial thoughts pre tune?
Cheers

Haven't taken the car for decent run yet - only up to the shops and back, so off boost.
Will be on the M7 later today, with family, so will be able to give it the odd squirt, maybe...

Has everyone received their intercoolers?

Still waiting for mine... hopefully it arrives today

EDIT: Found the missed delivery slip finally, called them to arrange re-delivery and found out that they had tried on the 16th!! Luckily they still had it at the depot, they were close to sending it back to the sender.
Anyway worked out alright, box seems held together fine and the staples are secure.

This is what I received, am I missing anything?

Received mine yesterday, got my turbosmart kompact bov, the oring, silicone hose, lanyard and some stickers but no penguin :(

It just fits underneath the strut brace, just make sure you install the silicone throttle body hose in the correct orientation (with the white writing on the cooler side, not the engine as per the mishimoto vid on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5SRG-vzoCwM) after I did that the cooler sits in nice, fits the strut brace and all the bolt holes line up!

The rear of engine cover may need a slight trim though but sits on top ok. The cooler doesn't have brackets for the engine cover clips, what gives there?

Nice! Glad to see that it fits with the round 08 strut brace, so you have your engine cover on now as well with no trimming?

My guess for the lack of engine cover clips is that the 08-14 WRX doesn't have an engine cover and is the primary market for this cooler
