Proud owner of 170 White Auto Sedan. Had it from new and just ticked over 220,000 km. Did a head gasket at 216,000 for no obvious reason but replaced entire cooling system (and fitted STI Rad cap) and had the heads serviced at the same time so better than new now and good for another 250,000. Love it to death even after a $4,500 spend. will probably park it in 2 years and buy something new.

Turns out I got bad advise from the dealer who did the work and 13,000k later its done a bottom end. now up for another $8000 + for a short block rebuild. NOT HAPPY

Ouch :( I know how you feel, I just paid for my new short block.

My advice is don't get the dealer to do it, and go for a new EJ257 short block rather than rebuilding yours. Which state are you in?

#85 - Black man sedan.

Bought it as a write off. Transplanting into another shell.

What do you guys think - If I do a complete transplant do I get to call it a 'tune by' or not?
