What are your current mods dave ? 6MT is the business but do you have mods ?

VF52 and XForce Tbe and a all day every day flog it tune. But the 6mt is too much work for 13+ second passes

What are you basing your statement on man? Scientifically speaking autos are faster shifting, it's a fact.

Statistically speaking - most of the libs here in the 12 second 1/4 zone are 5eats. We're talking 3:2 (I know of 6-7 (hopefully Adam can be 8th) 5eats in the 12s and only 2-3 manuals) ratio of 5eat:manual in the 12 seconds on this forum (referring to people who have run and who have provided a slip. The real life ratio is probably closer to 1:1). And when it comes to two cars with equivalent mods - it has ALWAYS (100% of the time) been the 5eat running faster times.

Tuners doing different things..? To what 'things' exactly are you referring to? Tuners also like to talk themselves up, no point advertising for them unless you have a 1/4 slip, we have enough BS here as it is.

As far as proven orthodox tuning goes - being tuned by MSR is certainly not a disadvantage, as already proven by Adam's previous times. Can't wait to see the new time :D

Ps. I should've just replied "Troll", but I've been off the forum for a while..

I'm basing my statement on the fact that taking off in an auto (without launch control) is much slower than launching a manual, and no amount of optimal auto shifting even with a tuned 5eat for the rest of the 400m will be enough to catch up to a manual driven by someone who knows what they're doing.

i know theres lots of 5eat fanboys on this forum with some really well tuned cars but give me the 6mt anyway.

Simbat I'm sorry you are wrong

Top 3 60 ft times on this forum are from 5eat's

Quickest liberty in the world (gen 1 450awkw) is an auto 4 speed

Autos are much better for launchin than a manual

I'm with you simbat, give me a manual any day, but it's not really a viable option for me where I live.
But youd be really surprised how well the autos launch in the liberty's. Dont forget the autos can brake boost off the line. So my liberty with an untuned and untouched gearbox will launch at just over 3000rpm. In my car on a sticky drag strip that's enough for me to spin the wheels and leave the line on boost.
I'll find you a link to a video of mine leaving the line at the drags

Hey Simbat, I was replying to "the Spec B" if you look at my post and his quote being the last one. Sounds like you took it to heart a bit!

Either way, as Mick said - our autos launch very well.

Manual 6MT any day of the week but I have also learnt that the autos launch well if dragging. In a street run with no car auto or manual launching the manual would be all over it.

One of the members on here who I met with a spec b auto gave me a drive and it went well but he commented " I wish I bought a manual" auto it not really a drivers car in his opinion.

Each to their own. No tuner advertising here as we know who is best in business in nsw

We do? Feel free to advertise tuners here, i don't mind. You've got me curious now haha
As i said though I'd love a manual for the street or track. I've always owned manuals. But wouldn't a brake boosted auto be just as quick at launching on the street? Brake boosting isn't a large timely affair, it takes no longer than revving a manual and dropping the clutch.

Oh sorry alex, I'm just angry at the world for slowly killing of the manual transmission...

But yes Mick i believe your auto is quick and can take off quick with the great tuning you have done to enable it to do that... that being said if we took out your auto tranny and chucked in a 6mt with a twin plate exedy and tune enabling anti-lag* take offs, I'm confident that anti lag launch would give enough of an initial advantage to beat your auto at the end of the 400m, not to mention a shipload more fun and reliable!

Probably 5-6 weeks.
Really looking forward to it... I gave the car a squirt this afternoon in a spot I have floored it many times before... the car is sooooooo much faster now. At all points in the rev range. Should be able to sneak into a 12 now.... hopefully.
