Very few experts exist. I'm not just talking about engineers. In talking about all things automotive.

When the bloke I'm entrusting to work on my car knows less than me, its not a good thing

This is really pushing me to get my home workshop up and running.

Could it be that he's just trying to drum up a larger invoice for you Mick? Although If I were him I would've dropped that at the first sign you knew what you were talking about.
Certainly is a sad state of affairs, too often it's the easier option to make bullshit money out of someone with no knowledge, than honest money off someone who knows what they're doing just not qualified to do it.

Twinkle where you been? How did the methadone detox go?

Anyways

Loving the lib at the moment

Been tweaking the tune. Its running alot better although Still has some room to go with timing and afr which I won't play with without a dyno to check for piston speed reversion

Still waiting on a final answer from engineer on 6 speed conversion.

In the meantime I will wait to see how the auto goes at the next drag meet. Hoping finally for a mid 11 or under.

After driving the car around today a fair bit (with a fair few squirts in there), I can honestly say this is the best the car has ever felt.

Lag is very minimal, shifts are awesome, mid range is friggen scary when it comes on and top end is ridiculous.

Did a brake boost launch today @21psi off the line and left four fat marks. This will 60ft at 1.60-1.65 in its current form. Based on previous mph of 125.8, that sort of 60ft will give me a 10 second slip.

0-100 was timed at 3.23 seconds using romaider log.

*Edit* - forgot to mention I'm going back to ecu controlled boost. Will be buying a 3 port solenoid and using the hks evc on the gemini. Should also assist in getting on boost slightly quicker.

Sounds awesome Mick.

Let me know when you head out to the creek, I'll bring the wagon down for it's first run on boost.

They are all basically the same, just slightly different packaging.

Custom and upgraded? Blehhh. On special? Certainly! Although by the time you had it shipped here you're probably looking at a similar price to one locally with a Subaru harness PNP. The right price for a 3port is $100-120 or so in my observations, I paid $110 for my pierburg.

Mick nice build thread good you are keeping it going

Have you thought about buying a GTB with the 6sp and swapping over engine running gear etc?

Not cheap I know but maybe a repairable write off or alike?
