Your reverse psychology may be working haha

Yeah I always thought it was peak power. I guess you would gain a bit in the mid range but you'd lose a fair bit down low.

I'm happy with my peak power...but I wouldn't mind a bit more mid range.

Well according to MSR the UEL is better for smaller VF turbos as they spool up quickly anyway. But for bigger turbos like yours he recommends EL headers for the mid range torque/power. But that means losing the boxer rumble.... how badly do you want mid range? hahaha

For me, I'd much rather keep the boxer rumble and better bottom end for the type of driving I do on the street. I didn't know about the differences between the UEL and EL headers. So would the VF52 be the biggest you would want to with the UEL's before you would lose too much mid-top end?

Well if you want to keep the boxer rumble when upgrading headers, you sacrifice bottom end Shav. That's the catch. But yeah you wouldn't want to go much bigger than VF52 with UEL headers. In MSR's opinion anyway.

That's food for thought if/when I upgrade the turbo. I was considering the TD05 too. Might want to stick with the VF52 then to get the car over the 200kwatw mark on pump fuel. Good thing I read up on what everyone is doing before handing over wads of coin.

Picked up the car from Process West today. Top mount installed beautifully.
It was interesting to see that the BOV sits almost vertically on the PW intercooler, so the turbosmart kompact BOV that most of us have touches the bonnet lining... they trimmed a perfect circle into the bonnet frame right above the BOV so that it clears comfortably now.. i wonder if anyone else such as Robert (manaz) has had a similar issue.

Turns out the cold air intake im getting had to be custom made by PW. The intake piping is now designed to work with the silicone turbo inlet that most of us have.
The normal cold air intake they make is designed to work with the stock turbo inlet. So ive asked PW to hang onto my CAI for a week and get their draftsman to model it up and put it into production as well as most us have a turbo inlet upgrade.

Ive also just purchased a new fuel pump (DW65c) after getting some good advice that i might be close to maxing out my factory when when i get my next tune. Anyone have any tips for the install?

Nice one Adam :)

Did they make a new splitter too?

The pumps are pretty easy to fit...make sure you have under half a tank.
You should do the filter while your at it...

I put a dw300 in a 04 wrx the other day...just as easy...

Do you mean the air splitter for the cooler Jackson? If so, they put on a new splitter, but it's not custom, it's the one they sell with that cooler.

Good to hear the fuel pump is easy. I bought the direct replacement for oem to make it as easy as possible. I remember people having some tips and tricks about 2 o-rings/washers or something... will have to do some searching. Also, where do I buy the filter for the fuel pump?

Yeah that's what I mean...the wrx & liberty must have the same splitter mounts :)

Yeah double o-rings, and some lube...they should come with lube...or vaso.

Cooper make a OEM replacement or Subaru...

You're not still thinking I got a verticooler are you Jackson? If so they couldnt get it to work on the liberty without making the core too small... so I've just got the version 1 top mount now.

thanks for the part number. I'm onto it straight away!!
