Restrictive stock components

Postby Nikko » Sat Jan 31, 2015 1:28 pm

Hey guys,
I'm a newbie around and have done a bit of reading but yet to see the answer. So what portions of the stock system are most restrictive (07 TBSTI)?? Looking at doing some minor mods to the car and getting a tune done.
Exhaust + Tune can yield aprox 200awkw? What would be the next components to do only looking at kw output?

The dump pipe first.
Maybe the mid.
Stock muffs are good for around 200 apparently.
Personally I think 200 is a bit extreme for a vf46.
Take a look at jacks-Gtb profile as he has a realistic roadmap including stages and mods.

Definitely the dump first, I've seen the stock one and its shocking how restrictive it is...

Dump/Exhaust + tune will usually yield around 180atw. To get to 200+ will need a turbo upgrade

^ agreed
VF52 Turbo (wrx turbo) and headers tend to be needed for autos to get to 200. Manuals possibly just the VF52 Turbo.

Sorry guys another question. Being a noob, so what is the awkw reading at stock for these cars? I assume you would have a substantial drop due to dual differentials.

About 140 for a manual. Stock tune.

Around 135ish... give or take 5kw depending on the car.
