After either a neat after market grill, preferably black (not super keen on the carbon fibre)
or
A second hand grill from me to do a DIY mesh job or just paint it black

have you looked into plastidip? looks very similar to matte black paint and looks quite good!

~$20 a can and you can rip it off if you dont like it or botch the job. No damage to the grill.

I've realised its pretty hard to find a pre-FL front grille, if you're still searching I'd recommend getting one from yahoo auctions on import monster - its around 125$ then another 100$ or so for shipping I think.
