New member- Wollongong

Postby Blake17 » Thu Jan 15, 2015 10:42 pm

Hey guys,

Im 17 and from Wollongong. A couple of months ago i picked up my first ever car that being a Liberty wagon 06 3.0r. It has 80 000kms on the clock and runs smoothly and im loving every minute of it. Besides a couple of dints on the outside the overall car is in immaculate condition.

The car is stock as a rock besides some reversing sensors and a bluetooth phone speaker. I have also recently plasti-dipped the wheels (just to give it a try) and i am really happy with the outcome.

This is a photo of when i first bought it

I am open to all options and opinions about new mods for my first Lib but nothing too pricey. I will post photos up shortly of how it looks so far! Any recommendations as too what mods to do first to it will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers guys

The first mod should be a tune. Costs several hundred but well worth it.

Other than that, rear sway bar and better brake pads/fluid.

You wouldnt happen to know where the best place to get a tune would be, preferably close to wollongong?

I would with Matt/kido he travels around aus but you'll probably have to go to Melbourne to meet him. He tunes heaps of the cars on here

Depending on how much you want to spend, you can get a genuine Sti lip or for cheaper you could buy ultrex or similar but the fitment usually isn't as good

Thanks
Im strongly thinking about getting it tuned, it will just depend on when i can pull enough money together.

If i do get a front lip it will most likely be the Sti one!

Wollongong is close to Sydney. So you could catch Matt there or see if he can detour on his way from Sydney to Canberra.

Thanks for pointing that out, I was thinking of wangaratta in Victoria. I think Matt usually flies between cities so I'm not sure a detour would be possible

Hi and welcome,

Good to see another member from the south coast.
I'm in Albion Park.
I just got my 06 wagon not to long ago as well. They are awesome cars, and that's coming from a old Skool muscle car guy.
Should meet up for a run some time. Just pm me if your keen too, got a run up to the pie shop in robbo with some other soobie owners from the Illawarra first Sunday of Feb it think.

Mods are endless, just depends how deep your pockets are.

I would agree with the others a tune and brakes would be top of the list.

This would be awesome bro, just let me know in advance so I can get my shit together and get mine ready.
Would have been ready now, but had to do a brake upgrade instead of zorst and cooler, coz I keep F*#king destroying rotors driving up and down the mountain to and from Sydney. DBA T2s and mt ousley don't mix....lol

Anyways bud, welcome, enjoy and might catch ya soon.
