Look what Santa brought me from Waxit :)

Postby Shaheenis » Fri Dec 26, 2014 5:12 pm

Well I splurged a little on car detailing this year . I have always wanted a DA polisher and I managed to stumble upon a good one on http://www.Waxit.com.au. Unfortunately for my wallet, when I found Waxit I couldn't resist with a full compliment of exterior duco cleaning, correction, polishing and waxing products 8). I also got a few interior ones to add to what I already had :). Can't wait to get started but I am waiting for a cool day to spend doing it.

The full detail will be a once a year regime and then intermediate smaller ones depending on how the finish holds up.

I even got some grit guards for the buckets which I have been meaning to do for a while.

norbs, you aren't wrong there. Even with a DA polisher there is a lot of hard work in cleaning, drying, buffing etc. Also cleaning all the pads and cloths afterwards.

Troy, I have probably got most of the gear to do it but will probably just do a few of the family cars to get my money's worth from the products . I like keeping my cars very clean .

Alexei, no secret, around $600 all up of which half was the DA Polisher kit. There are however 35 items in total . I ended up saving over $200 with rewards discounts, upgrades on product sizes and express post :). This was me treating myself to some products I really wanted which will last me for years to come, not trying to save money. The grit guards alone were $40 and I bought glass polish/restorer that will probably last me for 10yrs but can be used in the home on windows, glass table tops etc. There are actually a couple of products that I can use in the house.. I am also trying out some new products like IronX for removing iron contaminants from paint and wheels. Basically you spray it all over the car including glass and apparently all the iron contaminants hiding in the paint turn purple as they disolve. It gets rid of more ferros metal contamination than using clay. I take my cleaning seriously :).

I would have loved to of bought some of the quality leather products but last year I had already bought the Mothers leather pack with foam wash and conditioning cream which will last me for years anyway.

Nice buy!
Just letting you know to wear a mask when using iron x as it stinks really bad
and when using on wheels cover your rotors and calipers
