Hey Rob I have a few questions.

Firstly love the car, its looking great!

I'm a big fan of your exhaust setup and I was wondering why you didn't consider the AVO downpipe instead of the Invidia, as it looks like it comes with a splitter?

Thanks. Another change is about to show up (purely cosmetic this one). :)

I didn't like the design with the cast top (straight out of the turbo) before it becomes a stainless item.

I'd also heard good things about the fit of the Invidia. It certainly seems to work well (particularly with the ceramic coating).

None of the above. The whole exhaust can be a bit boomy, I'm seriously considering a resonator on the midpipe. But the STI mufflers themselves have been great.

So you think the TCP mid-pipe is causing it to be a bit droney/boomey? I'm planning the same setup as yours; Invidia dump to stock pipes to sti mufflers and don't want any drone etc.

It's gotten better as it's carboned up.

I'm still considering a resonator in the mid-pipe - but I know it's a one-way street if I do that (or I buy another mid-pipe)...

I changed my resonator for a mid muffler. Made a huge difference. Wish I'd done it sooner.

Did it alter the tone, or just the volume?

It altered the tone slightly. But it took 3-4 dB off all scenarios: cold start up, warm start up, cruising... all tested before and after the install.
Doesn't sound like a lot, but it really is a big difference.

A 3dB decrease means you halved the sound pressure, that is impressive. You went with an oval muffler I assume?

It's kind of oval shaped... sort of a rectangular prism with rounded sides. It's not overly large. I'll try get a photo when I get a chance.

That's a huge difference in sound. A 3db decrease is effectively half the original noise volume.

I'm assuming you also had your tune adjusted afterward to suit?
