And then that JDM STI meets a stock evo9 boosted to 26psi making 270kw with some minor weight loss....

Boom. Shattered dreams.

Well what are you still doing modifying your shitty Subaru then? Why not go out and buy a stock evo9 boosted to 26psi making 270kw with some minor weight loss...?

:P :P

The one thing I absolutely love about my car is its inconspicuous nature

People shit two bricks when they see me pulling away

That's the only true thing I like about having something different

But in hindsight, the $70,000 odd spent on this could've been put toward something better / more suitable.

For daily driving its not great - a corolla would pull away most of the time unless you sink the boot into it

For track its an auto that doesn't allow proper engine braking (but apart from that is pretty fun at the track except its weight)

For drag racing its too laggy off the line until I sort this header issue out that's not letting me brake boost

Above 3000rpm though its an animal.

The reason I hate Subaru's is everything is under engineered or line ball. Everything is difficult to get to or modify. And rebuilds are not easy. For half the money and time and headaches, I could've had a r32 gtr that is better all around.

Just being honest

Owen - the jdm Sti with the same level of boost and mods would shit on the Evo.

Evo 9 is 2007-2010 right? So a gdb version 9 or grb version 10 jdm Sti equivalent. Especially with the latter (grb), 300-350 atw is achievable with bolt ons and e85.

The 6 speed in the jdm Sti is also better.

Pretty sure his lib is permenantly for sale and it doesn't see the sun very much.

I think he has claimed the Evo 9 as his daily.

Actually Simon, the last thing I did to my lib was put the Shockworks in. I couldn't even be bothered changing the brake pads and removing my subwoofer for the track day.

I like my car. I don't love it though. It's hard to love when poor folks like Mick spend upwards of 50k and ends up with a car that does everything well, but does nothing spectacularly. Or when 2-3 phone calls a day involves quoting some poor Subaru owner a full rebuild or new motor.

Buy an evo 9 with minor weight loss you say? I'm pretty sure I've already got one in my garage. Here's a pic, just back from Phillip Island race day.

Targa Tasmania: GRB beat the EVO 9's in showroom class. EVO's running 27psi on race fuel Vs GRB STi running 22psi(stock is 11psi to make 140Kw@wheels)
