There are four finalist cities, and a decision will be made in October 2009.
Summer 2008 Beijing (China)
Winter 2010 Vancouver (Canada)
Summer 2012 London (UK)
Winter 2014 Sochi (Russia)
The finalists are:
Chicago (USA). (Previous USA games were L.A 1984 and Atlanta 1996)
Tokyo (Japan). (Previously held in Tokyo on 1964)
Rio (Brazil). (No previous games in Brazil)
Madrid (Spain) (Previously Barcelona in 1992)
My guess is Rio. They haven't been in South America, apart from the 1968 games in Mexico. All the other countries have had them before, although Tokyo was 44 years ago. I doubt they would go back to an Asian country so soon after Beijing, and Brazil is a much friendlier time zone for US TV!
