Yeah I'm an XL size chap, so perhaps it's less noticeable for me but I do like them for sure :)

Also on the to-do list: DIY AOS catch cans.
So a whole lotta reliability mods to do first :)

Update: loving the preFL seats still. No complaints from the passenger seat either :good:

I installed a Polk MM840 into the rear of the wag at last.
Its probably a better choice to use a shallower Kicker 8" or Polk DB840 (?) for a wagon...
Image
I had to make a 1/2" thick cardboard spacer meaning the grille wouldnt fit even with the plastic frame cut out.
Image
Supplied foam ring dremeled out to become a front spacer, if required.
Image
Extra long self tappers required to clear the cardboard spacer.
I used a 9V battery to check the polarity of the wiring was the same as stock.

I'll work out the grille mod later but in the meantime: WOW!
This is one of those "wish I'd done this way before" mods for sure.

Its really opened up the sound of the stock system (plus Resomatted doors and tailgate) and its like I can hear a whole octave lower as well.
The bass is deeper and more defined. I'm contemplating sourcing another MM840 and a 400W sub amp to drive them. :good:

Damnit, now I really wish I'd grabbed those Blitzen seats that were on Ebay for a song...

I cleaned up the mystery muffs, wire brushed the rust, Dremeled the sharp edges at the back of the tips, carefully masked them and hit the front and rear faces and pipes with satin black.

With the mufflered mid, the silence is AMAZING.
I was finding the TCP's sound a little ostentatious, thus the change :)

How thick is the sub in CM? If you measured it.
Kinda flush. Fitment is something. ADM as F*ck.

6.8" give or take a 1/4" for the mount...

Image
I need to make wedge shaped angled spacers out of 2-bolt zorst gaskets the equivalent of 3 washers thick at the lower end to get the pipes to sit flat in the cutouts...
The issue is with the (custom) mid pipe so that's going to be tweaked eventually :)

Image
All cleaned up, I'll probably polish the can bodies next time they're off - just for fun of course ;)

Hey I like the look of those quad tips Ben. Nice. How much did it cost you to get those fitted?
Cheers

Interesting. When you say made up, what does that include exactly?
