Grateful for owning a liberty...

Postby jemlang » Mon Aug 18, 2008 10:06 pm

Hi all

I have just found this forum and already I have found it a great help.

May this year I bought an MY07 2.5i manual sedan.
It is so friggin sweet!

Previously I was working for Ford in a dealership and sometimes Subaru here in Adelaide. Unfortunately I was given shitty fords to drive. It made me appreciate Subaru's so much more.
Before I was working there I owned an MY01 Impreza RX wagon which I bought from Brisbane and had sent down to Adelaide. Was the only black one in the country for sale at the time.

But I do want to share my experience I had on the weekend. I was thinking... hmm I wouldn't mind upgrading my car, why not check out BWM. So I went round and look at a couple of different ones, mainly was looking at the 325ci and 330ci. And after driving one of them it really made me appreciate the car I have. Subaru make such a good car.

I am now considering upgrading to GT or 3.0, not sure yet. Hoping this forum will help in me making that decision. I have a couple of months before I do anything but I am wanting either MY07 or 08. Someone suggested I spend a little on making mine a bit faster but after reading these forums most posts say dont bother.

I'm looking forward to spending many lost hours on this forum. See you round

welcome to the forum mate.... and yes Subarus (esp liberty's) are the ducks nuts :)

go the GT if you go an upgrade, there is a lot more potential power with mods (which you will inevitably start doing - it happens to all of us). First mod though should be a liberty.asn T-shirt- its a guaranteed 5kw ATW right away ;)

cheers

James

Welcome mate!

GT is the way to go, especially if your into modding.

I've said it before (Why does everyone keep forgetting!? :P) The Liberty Club T-Shirt is best coupled with the Liberty Club Sticker for maximum performance gain...

Sweet thanks for the advice guys.

I'll be grabbing one of those t-shirts for sure! especially if I'll get an extra 5kw :)

A friend of mine suggested I look at importing a Legacy from Japan. Anyone out there have or hear of any stories relating to this?

Welcome! Hope your search for what you want finds a happy ending.

The only reason why I would import a car from Japan is because it's something that I can't get here. Unless it's the limited edition that will never be released in AUS, the Liberty sent over here is pretty decent. A few JDM mods will fix up any shortcomings.
