Upgrade to DW65c, E85

G'day guys, was hoping someone with more experience in the area might have some advice

I may or may not have maxxed out my dw65c during my recent tune ...there is another 10% left in the turbo/engine....

Does anyone know of a pump that is:
-E85 suitable
-More powerful than Dw65, around 350-400L/hr should do the trick
-Minimal modifications required to fit (would rather avoid changing wires, have external surge tank etc)

Possible choices are DW300, walbro 400e85....AEM pump?

Any help, tips will be greatly appreciated

I put a dw300 in mine and it requires a bit of die grinding to fit and there isn't anything that really holds it in. psr make a billet holder that screws into the plastic.

Have you measured your voltage at the pump or at the fuel pump control module?

Upgrading the wiring to the pump and FPCM and using a relay are the common approaches, and also upgrading to a JDM STi FPCM.

BBB, the fuel pump controller upgrade for our cars doesn't provide any benefit. The ecu sends the signal for what voltage to supply. It goes to the fuel pump relay and then forwards the signal to the FPC. It provides the same current to the fuel pump controller no matter what controller you use.

you can get the sti fpcm that allowed a small increase in voltage (thread was on legacy forum) but to be honest a bigger pump would be the way to go

Fuel Pump control is based on injection pulse. ID1000's are 55% of the pulsewidth, so it needs 82% more injection pulse before fuel pump goes to 100% duty. It usually takes 12psi to get off 33% duty, then stays on 66% duty for most of the power band

The tune is possible to be setup with 100% duty at all times though

You need any pump that will supply more than 250LPH@70psi rail pressure

I have increased my fuel pump duty cycle in my tune: If the fuel pump duty cycle is at 100%? Does this increase the fuel temp? and/or put a strain on the pump?

Have you got any soobies making over 300atw with a dw65c? Haven't seen any....?

You might be able to on 98 but not e85

About 80 or so, most end upgrading to a DW300, get rid of the in tank filter and got engine bay filter. I also dont just tune Subaru's with the DW65c

Running pumps at 100% is not recommended, unless you like boiling your fuel and cooking your pumps
Better to do what's suggested in the links and run 10AWG wiring to the pump via a relay and the fpcm as per the accepted method. And do same for the grounds. STi controller upgrade for another 1/2 volt lol: Bust mythted.

Benny I think it's a great idea....just trying to get the most bang for effort in, because I don't really need the extra 10% power. If I can gain it by simply changing for a new pump, fantastic. If the DW300 still doesn't have enough pull, then I'll look at the wiring.

My engine builder isn't worried about wiring, my tuner says pump is maxxed. Car made the power in the top 5% of what I've ever seen a dw65 make anywhere in the world, when it started leaning out.


Based on all that - I think it's safe to say that I need a larger pump and thanks to a very generous person I will (very likely) be installing the DW300 with a PSR collar very soon (then drive it like a nanna for the fuel economy)
