New P Plater car restrictions (nsw)

Nearly everything is in here to start with.
If it's about your car, or Subaru's in general, put it in "Subaru Chat".

This 100%
Defensive driving courses should be mandatory... probably refresher courses down the line too. So many times has my mum broken the law and used the excuse "I've had my license longer than you".

Ohh and I'm annoyed by the fact that manual B4's are banned but automatics aren't grrr.

I have been saying for years that they need to make all p-players do the defensive driving course though that can be a negative as well. P-platers don't fully understand or acknowledge the consequences of driving recklessly or the damage that is done if the worst does happen.

In nsw there is a government run course for people who are caught driving recklessly too often called the "driver offenders course" which is used as a last chance instead of jail time. I have done this course and it is the only reason I obey the road rules to this day. It shows you every reason why you shouldn't be a dick on the road and I believe this should be mandatory for all l-platers coupled with the defensive driving course.

Wow... Just had a look, All the GenIV sedan tuned by Sti models are banned but wagons are allowed....
All manual/sedan WRX's after bugeye are banned as well but the hatches aren't....
Stupid system is stupid.

The problem with getting an exemption is you generally have to own the car already =/

I would like to refute this. I am perfectly aware of the risks. I just don't care anymore.

Not sure if your trying to prove my point or not but the risks isn't what I was talking about. If you were to crash and kill someone because you were doing something stupid it effects more than just you and the other person. It effects the emergency service people, relatives, friends and communities just too broadly name a couple of effected groups.
