I've been offered:
Bridgestone RE050A: $400
Yokohama Advan Sport V103: $380
Hankook something or the other: $250

Ric

the Hankook R-S2 is a good tyre belive it or not and you can pic theres up in 18x225 for no more than $850 a set of 4

we used these tyres on Jasons wagon at track day and were very happy with them as these are rated as almost a semi slick type tyre and rate quite high when we did a google search on them

3rspecb/Gino has offered me an unused RE050A for a great price, so I'm going to buy another new one to make a pair.

I know I hit the submit button again because it gave this error the first time I posted:
Could not obtain topic watch information

DEBUG MODE

SQL Error : 2006 MySQL server has gone away

SELECT topic_id FROM newbbtopics_watch WHERE topic_id = 3047 AND user_id = 3

Line : 687
File : functions_post.php

That indicates a temporary problem with the web host's database server. Obviously the post has gone through ok, and it's just getting an error when it tries to update the list of people who should be notified when the topic has been replied to.
I'm hoping this is just a temporary problem.

This is a good opportunity for the post whores to increase their post count by posting the same thing twice and blaming it on the database server issue. :D

RE050's are good, I actually preferred them to the Pirelli's I have now, although with how many kays you get Ric I'd go for something even softer like the Potenza semislick

I managed to cut a cross section out of the damaged tyre last weekend. I might mount it on a board now ;)

57000kms on orig treads

Postby LibJam » Sat Feb 28, 2009 3:44 pm

Wow... looking at those photos makes me worry a little. I've not long rolled over 57100km's (bought new, just over 3yrs) and still on the original treads.

I don't exactly granny around, but on the other hand I don't powerslide everywhere (2.5i doesn't quite have the grunt for that).

methinks it time for new treads.

I have the same issue though where the rears are more feathered on the inside, I'm thinking due to camber (what little there is) and body roll and unloading of the inside tire in cornering/sliding.

I've also been slowly ramping up the pressures to where i've been running at about 40psi for the last 6mo or so. harder ride, but rolls better.

... so yer... my 20c :)
