Evo would be a fair bit quicker stock for stock.

Should just go buy a.... Dare i say it..... An EVO with the works.

And just forget about it and enjoy it.

This is the price of being different

Evo's are fun. You should do that.

Sorry to hear Dan. Would you consider going back to a stock tuned GTB engine ?? Plenty power with reliable mods and tune

Out of interest are the evos much quicker in stock trim than a GTB ?

Oh god no Newbie. Stock GTB is shit.!!!

Stock EVO are pretty bad too. Quicker then a GTB but not that quick either. Same goes for GTR skylines.

Its just Subaru's take serious money to make power and are no where near as reliable a good power 280-300 kw at all 4 wheels plus.
Not a Subaru...... Something MUCH better

NOPE..... That's shit too. Bus anyone??

Buy an evo 9 and make 330kw without touching the engine. The problem is though, nobody gives a shit if you have a fast evo because the guy 3 doors down will have a faster one.

A 330kw liberty (that doesn't blow up) on the other hand......the look on V8 drivers' faces says it all.

This is my EXACT feelings and point.

Love my car, love the styling and the way it goes un noticed by most people. Except the plates give it away a little

If i wanted a fast car, i could buy a FPV F6 , 400 rwkw with and exhaust and tune. But every malaka knows someone that has one that is quicker or better or gayer.!!

If this needs another build ( looking like it ) i CANT afford another one let alone this coming one, so it HAS to be reliable to 300 kw atws

And i will take this car to my grave pretty much.

Hate to sounds like a dick, but any engine builder with any big power experience shouldn’t using a block that has been previously sleeved by someone else and they have no real idea of the what was done.

Seems to me like the block might have been shelved for a reason………. My guess is it was out of spec after the coin was spent setting the selves, a common issue for the someone which has little experience with EJ motors.

Even if the block was checked, I highly doubt it was checked correctly, i.e. x-rayed, a metrology report at operational temp…. a simple pressure test is a waste of time.

Best beat would be to get your old block fixed and fitted, then speak to the right people regarding your next build if that is still an option.

2 of the guys at work have fpv f6 both done tune and cooler and I think dump are making 325-330atw, 400 is for something on e85

There is that option too. :D

My point however is that high powered modified cars don't make for good reliable daily drivers.

A car like a lib with a 300awkw tune and 400kw build would not be a pleasant drive in traffic.

The other thing that no one has mentioned, although I feel Dan is implying it - making this new build last more than 100 or even 200,000kms at 300kw. It takes a lot of experience with EJs to make that happen.

If your engine builder couldn't make the current build last more than 5,000kms on a vf46, maybe he's not the man to go to? Unless you do as mick suggests and give him a factory assembled ej257 or 207 with forgies..?
