Kido can manage the CVT and tuning - that be the least of our problems, he has tuned a significant amount of CVT Subaru already
I did suspect your model has the plastic, hence the question.
I went through my collection and found a 2010 with the EJ H4 (see timing belt covers)

This shows the CLASSIC Subaru mentality at work here, which is why I nearly always ask for pictures of H4 engines.
We see here the use of plastic manifold (also tested in USA Impreza in 2004 only) and the first instance of the single drive belt for all accessories, this being the test bed for these features that would in time show up on the FB20/25 engines. Of course the power steering pump is from approx 2005 Impreza, but AC pump is new and only on GEN5 cars. They do the same with Impreza's, Foresters etc and often I noticed an engine of improved power first offered in Liberty models before seeing it a couple of years later in Impreza. They (early H4) are testing to put kits to because of this way in which they spec their engines, Forester EJ NAs are the most mixed up things ever in their early years.
