I originally thought it was an issue around the fuel cap seal being dodgey, but according to subaru both the front cats are busted.

Is that MGonzo's actual LV?
There's something going on there that looks more serious than a clogged cat. Need logsss and to take a look at ze car...

Whats this all about then?

That is actually surprisingly good for a stock H6 actually. Most are like these:

It could always be a batch of bad fuel. Maybe run it on 98 next time.

I've been using 98 the entire time I've owned it.

Left cat collapsed. Was replaced with standard flow magnaflow cats at $500 each.
Its not the sensors even though they can be an issue yes. But stock exhaust generally always is cats.
They can also be a pain to fit due to sensors being timmid and needing correct placement so function properly.
Look up magmaflow replacement cats.
30rbullet wrote:Don't have the cat was a long time ago. They just clog up over time man and let fuck all through and choke the motor.
When the cats were replaced my power improved and response came back.
Was better on fuel too.

A P0420 happens when the rear sensor is reading the same pattern of AFRs as the front sensor. That is - the same amount of fuel coming through, and none being cleaned. That means the cat isn't working or sensor is broken.
Too much air isn't quite what the sensor is there to measure.
Anyway - are you calling 30rbullet a liar?30rbullet wrote:Had this problem in my 30rb last year.

alexeiwoody wrote:And yet you agree that it looks bad when another car had a very similar LV: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19008&start=120#p302718
Now you're saying that most stock H6's drive around with IAM at 0, knock sensor reading detonation even then and Maf scaling at -10...?
If you're saying that in your experience it's normal for stock N/a's to exhibit some knock - OK. Those LV's you posted...they don't look like "most H6's".
KiDo_Tuning wrote: Yes, it looks bad and I was only agreeing that that IAM is good even though it is under 0.500 since 9/10 are under 0.250 and I have only ever found ONE IAM above 0.750 on a H6.

So my car isn't quite as stuffed as some, thats positive.
Where do I go from this point? Replace the headers and cats? Check the O2 sensors somehow?
