No knock in the FLKC table but I'm still not 100% on the A/F Learning table. Can anyone lay it out for me?

AF#1 is long term fuel trims divided up into 'zones

So under 5.6 is idle
5.6 to 9 is initial take off
9-40 is generally cruise

40 to 80 is the important one. It self learns between 40 and 80 to add or subtract fuel to get the MAF scaling onto target as it blends into open loop. The thing with this is that what ever it learsn, sat +5% is then applied from 40g/sec to the end of the MAF voltage range. So it adds 5% fuel or roughly 0.7 AFR to the entire MAF scale :)

Nothing to be worried by those values :)

You want the 4th range as close to zero as possible and the others are all trying to get optimal cruise AFR's :)

Thanks Matt.

I'll go back and have another read of the A/F stuff on RR site. My heads a bit swollen lately with studying Japanese, getting back into reading music, and learning all this stuff for these new-fangled carbie wannabes. I miss Webers.

Thankfully Japanese TV sucks. Their beer is good however.

Airflow Ranges correction for the 40+g/sec should be +5% or -5%, as +5% addes fuel across whole fuel map but a value of -5% is pulling 0.5 AFR off the open loop fuel trims

TheMightyGonzo: It's a MY06 3.0RB, and it's had an error light which has been on and off since I bought the thing. It seems to trigger when the fuel tank is at about 2/3 full. I originally thought it was an issue around the fuel cap seal being dodgey, but according to subaru both the front cats are busted.

Any advice? Research: http://tinyurl.com/mbfp55v

Iam drop = ignition timing pulled to protect engine = knock occurring.

If a cat is somehow choking the engine enough to get it to knock, I imagine you would've had a CEL for it long ago.

On the other hand a faulty O2 sensor is more likely. You'll benefit from proper logs to see how it behaves to get a better guestimate if it's farked. Start by cleaning your MAF sensor...

Yes the car was very used by the previous owner.
I'll bring my Maf cleaner for when we log it.

IAM was originally designed specifically for the various octane differences in fuel I believe. Hopefully you're not throwing low octane shit in ya tank, turbo cars (especially) hate it. Could be false knock too, check there's nothing loose around the block
