Got no idea how to time it, and personally i think a 1/4 mile will be a far more accurate way of measuring how quick it is.
I might take it to the drags after the final revision!

0-100 can vary just as much unless you drive an auto.
How hard you dump the clutch, what rpm you dump the clutch, if you dump the clutch at all, how much wheel spin you get off the line, how quickly you can slam 2nd & 3rd (or if you have Matt's FFS, can it keep up human reflexes), will affect your 0-100 figure just the same as a 1/4 run.

Just get Owen to drag Jay's and another car (gti?) to compare

I even offered to race him in a 90kw 1.6NA earlier this month, he made it sound like he was all keen, then bricked his ecu on purpose so he wouldn't have to lose.

In this particular case, no. Because a car with Jay's moderate amount of power would achieve a quicker 0-100 or 1/4 time on street tyres than on semis. Street tyres would allow him to launch at 5000rpm and have just enough wheel spin to stay within the power band, whereas too much traction would mean it bogs down losing a precious second.
So, think about this scenario. My turbo liberty on the shithouse Wanli tyres that came with my new rims will smoke all the way thru first with an aggressive launch and halfway thru second if I dump the clutch. Now, Jay's car would most likely be at 100kph the same time as me because his will wheel spin for a split second at 5000rpm while mine would be bouncing off the limited struggling for grip.
Next question, what's more important to you? Dragging people off the line to 100? Or having that midrange pull to overtake trucks/pull out of corner exits, and that high end power to race cars that count? (My Golf will do 0-100 in the 6 second range. "I beat a Golf last night"..."Who gives a shit?" Or even worse "I got beaten by a Golf last night"
Jay's car, Alex's (Chubbs) car on E85 etc will be no slower to 100 than mine, but Alex will tell you how I overtake them on an on ramp onto the freeway. How often will somebody race you off the lights? 0-100 times are a poor way to gauge power and drivability, especially when you consider cars being designed with super short ratios to look good on paper, then realise they've got fuck all after 100.
